What to do with your expired mascaras?

Mascaras are known to be the fastest product to expire. One bottle of mascara can last up to 4 to 5 months max and this is the main reason I've never considered buying a high end mascara because it can be really expensive for a product that can only last me less than half a year. Personally, I think it's not worth it. 

However, I just discovered that I can actually put my expired mascaras into use! I'm going to share my little 'discovery' with you. It's not rocket science, I know people have come up with this idea before but I'm just going to share this with you anyway, for the girls (or guys?) who didn't know about this, then this might be useful for you.

Last month, before I filmed my Vanity Tour (will be up soon! So stay tuned), I realized that I have tons of expired mascara tubes in my mascara bin. So I decided to take all of them out but before tossing the tubes in the trash can, I took out the wands from their tubes. 

Then I washed the wands so they will be clean and make sure to not leave any mascara ink on the wands. For extra cleanliness, use your brush cleanser/cleaner. If you don't have any brush cleanser, you can use your make up remover too!

And that's it. It's so simple that I had to smack my palm on my forehead for not thinking of this earlier. I've wasted so many mascara wands but now, not anymore.

If you're wondering, why would I keep clean mascara wands? 

Well... because girls, the mascara wands can also act as your eyebrow brush or your eyelash separator. After you fill in your eyebrows, you should definitely comb your brows to blend the color in with your natural eyebrows. That's when this mascara wand comes in!

For your eyelashes on the other hand, once you apply mascara on your eyelashes, they'll get pretty clumpy as most mascaras leave clumps on your eyelashes. However, with your clean mascara wand, you can separate your eyelashes after applying your mascara. This will not increase the clumps as the wand was already cleaned.

So instead of throwing your expired mascaras, you should wash the wands and use them. It's really easy and simple!
