Netball? Yes!

You know what's a shocker?

I started playing netball again.

No, wait. It's surprising that I even started to exercise and run again. Let alone play netball. After 3 years of not exercising, imagine how tired I was when I first played the other day. My stamina was gone from 95% to 1% over the years! Well, actually I played futsal for my residential college like, 2 years ago but that doesn't count because I didn't even train or anything. I just played 3 games, which lasted about 7 minutes per game and that was it. But this time, I played for real.

It started when I found out my friend, Shera is coaching the juniors from my former high school. When I heard her saying "I'm still coaching netball for our school", the only thing I was thinking right that moment was, "I want to go and play too". One day, when I came to school to fetch my sister from her dance practice, I saw Shera at the field with a bunch of girls playing netball. I called up to Shera and next thing I know, I was on the field too, playing against the girls. I wasn't prepared that day, so I played with my bare feet and a tight top. But the next day, I came fully equipped. Hehe. I really missed playing. I used to play netball everyday when I was in high school. Seriously, having to play again makes me happy. Like, when I play, everything else seems to fade away. I don't have a care in the world when I'm playing and I love how netball can make me feel that way.

After playing several times at school, Shera BBM-ed me one night and asked whether I want to play for a tournament. I kept my cool and asked for the details when inside I was like,

ARE YOU KIDDING ME?!!?? OF COURSE!!!!!

I needed to ask my parents whether they have plans on the dates which concern the tournament. My parents said okay and I couldn't be happier! So last weekend I had trainings with the rest of the team. We had a friendly match with one of the team that will be playing for the tournament too. We won the friendly match though, so that's good I guess. I really hope we'll do good for the tournament.

I've always played GA or GS. I know you guys are probably thinking, "but you're so short, how can you be the Goal Attack/Goal Shooter???". Well, I get that a lot. I may not be tall but I've always played that position. For this tournament it won't be any different. But Shera said I might be playing WA too, but we'll rotate between all the attacks. I don't mind though. I don't mind what position I'll be playing, as long as I'm in the team. Woohooo!

You know what I like the most about netball other than the sport itself? That the team is like family to me. I love how netball can bring people closer and together. I don't know about the others but I really feel like we're family. We're a team and I love my team ☺
