Check up

It's been a while since I last stepped on a hospital's floor. Today I brought Zahir to Subang Jaya Medical Centre (SJMC) for his check up. I went into the room with him for moral support, though I'm sure I was the one who needed moral support when I saw his stitches. I automatically held my right wrist as if I was the one with the stitches. Yes, I am vulnerable when it comes to blood or stitches or broken leg or whatever that has to do with nurses, doctors and hospitals. That's why I was never interested in Biology. Not even Basic Science for that matter. I quickly turned away when I saw his wrist and pretended I have a very long text coming in on my phone. I kept looking at my phone screen the whole time the doctor was doing God knows what to Zahir's wrist.

I brought my book along with me but I couldn't focus reading when I could hear Zahir's voice on the other side of the curtain saying 'ouch that hurts' every 2 minutes. So I tried distracting myself by reading the tweets on my time line. But I was never good at distracting myself, despite how easy I get distracted when I'm studying.

I could finally breathe out when the doctor said she's done. By that time, my stomach was begging me for food. Zahir and I decided to go Chili's for late lunch because we were both so hungry that only Chili's big portion can fulfill our stomach.

I don't know how he can cheerfully show his wrist like that!

Top : Dorothy Perkins
Necklace : Minz

I don't know why I'm so vulnerable but I couldn't wash away the image of Zahir's skin on his wrist when the bandage was unwrapped.....

Until my Crispy Honey-Chipotle Chicken Crispers arrived on the table. I even forgot my name by the time I took a bite.

Thank you Kak Amy, this is the first time he's been in a serious accident. And I have to put away all my fears of the hospital and blood for him, that's the least I can do :)
Thanks again!
