Someone's age starts with a 2 now!

July is definitely the month where I always splurged for someone else. I usually splurge for myself or maybe a few occasions for someone else like a present for family's birthdays but July is absolutely the month where I buy not just presents, but also every preparations for that someone without thinking of my budget for that month. If he thinks that is not love, then I don't know what is.

So anyway, I've been planning to surprise Zahir for his 20th (yes, you read it right, it's two zero) birthday couple of weeks ago. I didn't have any ideas on what to do or what to plan. I listed down every possible ideas on my planner, including the theme colour, the concepts, the door gifts for guests, the menu, the places. But the list just made it harder for me to decide since the list had a lot of choices. So I BBM Fara to come over my house to help me decide and guess what? Once we started discussing on my couch, ideas kept pouring out of my head! By the end of the day, we decided on a White & Green theme, Istana Bambu in KL as the venue and we even had our outfit for the party planned out that very day! Hehe. Mom was so nice to accompany me the next day to go find all the things we needed for the party like the thank you notes, papers, cardboards and everything as I planned to do everything from scratch, with my bare hands. I've always loved to make hand made cards for people because I think it's more meaningful and people will appreciate hand made cards better than bought ones.

I spent one week to finally be done with everything. The things that I made from scratch were :

The gift bags for guests

Zahir's present's box because I couldn't find one with the size and colours I wanted

The decorations

Zahir's birthday card/party guest book

I have to thank my Mom, my Dad, my sister, Fara, Nazrin and Razin for everything they did in making this surprise party a great one.

Preparing before the birthday boy came.

These macaroons and Red Velvets are the best! Fara, Nina and I couldn't stop eating them and the prices are so reasonable! My Dad's friend made them and if you want to order, just message her on Facebook. You can also see all of her cakes, cupcakes and macaroons in her photo albums.
