Books are my life

Okay, that's not entirely true. But books are kind of important to me. Without books, I would be one boring girl. Of course, my laptop is my number one entertainment, but I just love my books. I love going to bookstores and spend hours in there, choosing books to buy. I love the smell of books, I love holding books, I love everything about them, especially when the contents are as nice as the appearance. Honestly, I judge a book by it's cover, literally. When I 'm in a bookstore, I'll pick up the nicest book on the shelves. Mostly the pink ones or if a book has a good cover. I personally love the hard covered ones because it's prettier. But it's kind of hard for me to carry hard covered books in my purse everywhere because obviously, it's heavier. Sometimes a book is published in two covers. The normal one and the hard covered ones. I always choose the hard covered rather than the normal ones though its going to be hard to carry everywhere. Yes, I'm one stubborn girl.

I collect books as much as I collect bags. I have a lot of books to the extend that I think I might need another shelf for them. I love all of my books but of course, I have my favorites among them. I started collecting books since I was 9, so choosing my favorites among all of them was pretty hard. But I managed to downed it to just a few.

My most favorite author is Rachel Cohn. She's the first author I search for every time I'm in a book store. But sadly, the last book I saw her published was Cupcake. Which was like, 4 or 5 years ago. But seriously, I love her way of writing, it's like I can imagine the whole story in my head when I read her books. So of course, when I was trying to figure out my favorite books, Rachel Cohn's name automatically popped into my head. Of all her books that I have, on top of my list is Gingerbread.

And the sequels, Shrimp and Cupcake.
I love all of them, I've read them like, over a gazillion times!

Next on my favorites are all the Lauren Conrad's sequels.

Lauren Conrad really knows how to write and I can't help but to think that the story is based on her own life. Maybe she gave it a little twist here and there but it's basically about a girl who did a reality show of her own life, just like her own Laguna Beach/The Hills. And the cover of the books are definitely a plus!

Last October, I found out Hilary Duff was publishing a book she wrote herself. Being a fan of her since 12, I couldn't wait for the book to be published in Malaysia. If you know me well, you'll know I'm not really a patient kind of girl. I wanted the book as fast as I can. So I asked my brother who's staying in the States to buy it for me. Hehe.

To be honest, Elixir wasn't really the kind of books I would buy because it's kind of unrealistic. Reading this book, I had the chance to widen my imagination to a whole new level. I always read girly type of books but Elixir is totally different from all of that. But since it's Hilary Duff, I'm being bias here. I thought I wasn't going to like the book at first but I was totally wrong. I love the book! It's so thrilling, my heart was thumping, literally. I finished the book just in one day because I couldn't wait any longer to know the ending. It was so intriguing, I couldn't help it!

Other than all these fiction books, I also love celebrities' or fashion books. So next on my favorite books list is Style by Lauren Conrad (again!). This book really helped me a lot.

Believe it or not, I was really bad at doing the cat eye look using a liquid eyeliner, but after reading this book, I now know the techniques. It's really amazing, how she gives tips on how to match clothes, how to make up and things like that.

I recently got a book that I've been searching for high and low for almost 4 years. It's Influence by Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen. It has been sold out in Malaysia since 4 years ago and so, I used my brother again. Hehe.

That's about it for my favorite books. And currently, I'm reading Last Night at Chateau Marmont by Lauren Weisberger.

I don't know if it's that great because I'm not even halfway yet, but so far, it's good :)

I wish I could say the same about my life. :( Sadly, Facebook has invaded & taken priority over books. xD
