Getting Engaged to the Love of My Life

I'm pretty sure most of you know this but to those who don't, I'm officially engaged to Amin. Remember him in this post?

I got engaged in April, so that's like 5 months ago but I left my blog for so long that I always procrastinate writing a post because truth be told, I think I've lost the ability to write. Everyone can write but a few can write an interesting post. And I think I've done a pretty good job in the past (self praise is no praise, I'm aware haha but I'm just saying I can at least get some of you to read my blog in the past, so that must mean something...) but then I don't know what happened. When I logged in my blogger account and clicked on the "new post" tab, I blanked. I couldn't write a single sentence!

However, I think I'm slowly getting back on track now. Hence why I'm updating you guys on my engagement! My blog readers have been here since the first day, so you guys definitely deserve an update. This post will be solely about the man I agreed to and how it all started. The preparation and the day itself on the other hand will be in separate posts because they all deserve their own posts.

Amin was a friend whom I always see as friendly, funny, talkative, very helpful and can be friends with everyone (which brings out the jealous side of me multiple times. Hehe). Never have I expected that he'd be this important to me, that he'll be the love of my life and my future husband. Alhamdulillah, I am so grateful that Allah blessed me with a guy like him because he can guide me and complements me like no one ever could. I've been in love before but not even one person has made me feel the way Amin does. It just feels easy with him, like everything is smooth and there's just no dramas with him. I also find myself respecting him and that means a lot if you know me. It's not like I don't respect people, but I tend to overrule my partner in my past relationship. I know it's not good but I still did it anyway and I realized that I was such a bad girlfriend. I don't know why and how to explain, but with other guys, I don't feel like they can guide me.

It all started so sudden with Amin. We were just a couple of friends, only saw each other when our group decided to hang out. We never really had time alone, always surrounded by our group of friends. So I don't really know why or how this friendship was triggered into something more than just friends. But what I remembered is that Amin asked me out casually one day but I turned him down. Wasn't proud of it but I used to be this career oriented girl, where I only think about my work and nothing else. I guess that was how I got over my previous relationship; by working my head off. I wake up at 4am every weekday, drove to office by 6am and work until like 8pm or 9pm. That was my daily routine. On weekends on the other hand, I had exhibitions most of the weekends so that means I work from morning till night on weekends too. My dad told me once that I had no life, no friends. I also had this principle which I still hold on to, never go out alone with a guy if you are not interested in the guy. Well, I didn't even give my mind or heart to think about how I feel about this guy and I turned him down because my priority was my job, job and job.

After that "rejection", Amin kept on texting me telling me things about his interests, his daily life and his family. At first I wasn't interested, to be honest. I was not thinking too much about it and only reply when I had the time to actually sit down and go through my messages on my phone, which was usually close to midnight when I was about to go to sleep.

And then, one day. he asked me out again. I already tendered my resignation to my MD by that time and was feeling carefree. So I decided to consider it. By "consider" I mean asking people whether or not I should say yes to this date. There was just something about the way he asked this time that made me feel like I needed to say yes. He actually asked properly instead of his first "Where are you now? I'm at The Curve. Let's hang out". This time, he was way more proper and direct with "Are you free next week? I wanna bring you out on a proper date". I did NOT melt with his words, mind you. I was taken aback with how direct he was. So I asked some of my close friends whether I should say yes and most said yes with the reason "You work all the freaking time. We hardly see you have fun and be happy anymore after your ex. Doesn't hurt to try." By this time, I was 80% sure I would say yes.

I knew my Mom would be the answer to all this doubt. So I asked my Mom. She said I should just try to  go on this date to see if he's really genuine about wanting to know me better. I always believe mothers know best. And I was damn right about trusting my mom's instinct.

It's been almost two years and Amin never fails to make me laugh. Every single time. Even when I am upset about him or something else, he always managed to make me laugh. And that is what matters to me. A guy who completes me, who can guide me, keeps me grounded, keeps reminding me about the real world and brings out the best in me. I am so grateful that Allah has crossed our paths.

Now we are engaged and getting married in less than two months.

I'm so nervous, excited, anxious and everything else I cannot even put in words.

May Allah ease this journey for us, InsyaAllah.

This is such a sappy post but I couldn't help myself. My engagement preparations will be in the next engagement post and I promise you that post will be more cheerful than this one. Stay tuned!

Who's That New Guy??!

Hey guys.

So....

Miss me?

I bet you do.

I miss you too.

Anyway I've been losing my blogging mood for so long. And this morning I woke up feeling like "hey, I miss writing and I miss my blog. I think it's time for me to update about my life."

And..... here I am.

First thing first, I am no longer working at that awesome place I worked before. I had a really great time, gained a lot of experiences (and weight), met a lot of awesome people and learned a whole lot of things. I am really thankful that my first job after I graduate was there at C H Williams. It was such a fun experience and if I had the choice I would definitely go back there to work. However I have other plans ahead of me and I had to quit.

Missing all these crazy people!!

I will definitely keep you guys updated about that "other" plan when I think it's the right time to tell. In the meantime, I am working with my Dad. It's definitely not my line or industry, but hey it's temporary before I figure my life out. Still gotta work to pay the bills, hence this job. Lol.

So yeah, career wise, I am still working on it. Still in progress but everything is good so far.

I'm sure some of you who are following me on Instagram and Twitter have some questions for me. Hehe because I've been receiving questions about it. So whatever I'm about to tell you, you heard it here first! Typing this makes me nervous. I'm having second thoughts about publishing something so personal about my life but I figured that since it's been so long since I abandoned my blog, I might as well make it up to you readers by being transparent with you guys.

Okay guys, yes. I have a new guy in my life right now in case you are wondering when you saw my pictures on Instagram and all the tweets I've been RT-ing and posting. I've been through a heartache for almost 2 years and I finally found back my happiness. Trust me, these past couple of years I've been nothing but miserable. I came to a conclusion that I don't want to fall in love and I don't want to get married. I'd rather be successful and alone than living through a heartache. Well, that was what I thought.

Until I said yes to this guy (let's just call him the new guy, for now yea? Hehe) when he asked me out. I've never said yes to any guy who asked me out after my big break up in 2013. But somehow, with this new guy, I considered. I had my doubts though, so of course like always, I went to Mom for advice. My Mom said it's okay to give it a try with this one and so, I did. Never did I expect that things will turn out this way. I enjoy his company so much that we've been spending so much time together since then.

Now I can finally say that yes, I've moved on from the 7 years of relationship before. In case you are wondering, no I did not regret anything. I'm sure if you have been following me for quite some time, you would know who my boyfriend was. I have been with him since the first I started this blog and the memories we had are priceless. It is also not wrong to say that I am still friends with him until now. I've known him since we were 9, of course I wouldn't just forget about him. People have been asking me how did I move on. Well, let me tell you something. It wasn't easy. It took me a couple of years, after all. My tip is to be patient. That is all, seriously. There's nothing that you can do except wait as time heals everything. You can't force yourself to stop having feelings towards someone. When the feeling is there, it's there.  But have faith in yourself, that everything will work out just fine. It may be difficult, you might cry yourself to sleep every night but trust me, it will turn the other way around sooner or later. I am a living proof of that. I was having the most difficult time, I used to cry a lot, mood swings and all but look at me now. I'm happy. Everything turned out perfectly fine, but of course I don't want to jinx it so, I'll stop talking about how happy I am right now. The moment I stopped stalking and checking on my ex's social medias, that's when I know I have really moved on. Anyway, moral of the story is, to whoever asked me for tips on how I moved on, I only have one thing to say ; Be patient.

Don't ever let a heartbreak ruin you. I didn't believe in love but I am totally smitten right now. So, just wait. God has someone better for you in the future so you don't need to rush things and jump to conclusions like I did. You can wait for the right one and remember God always knows best. He knows who is good for you and who's not. Who knows, you are facing all this because He wants you to be stronger so you'll be able to walk on your own feet before you share your love with someone else. If there's one thing I learned from the break up, it's definitely to love myself more. I didn't give myself enough credit that I deserve. I am worth more than that and now I realized that I need to learn to love myself more before I learn to love someone else. Now I truly believe in the saying "Don't find love, let the love find you" because when this new guy asked me out, I wasn't looking for a relationship. Heck, I wasn't even thinking of being attached to anyone and I actually vowed to myself to not love again. But suddenly he came into the picture and he can make me laugh at 3 am in the morning. He makes me feel all these feelings I hadn't felt for the longest time. He makes me happy, he makes me feel warm and fluffy inside, he makes me nervous in a good way and he makes me smile reading his texts everyday. I wasn't even looking but it just feels right.

Everyone has a different love story. Either you are marrying your high school sweetheart, or you're getting engaged with someone you just met for 5 months, it doesn't matter because everything happens for a reason, every individual walked into your life for a reason and God has everything planned out for us. You don't have to worry about it. Duration doesn't imply how pure your love is towards someone and how serious your relationship is. When you are in a long term relationship but don't feel happy anymore, ask yourself this : "Are you in love with the person you're in a relationship with or are you in love with the duration of the relationship and the memories you both made along the way?". It was hard for me because I was in love with all the memories we had and the 7 years we've been together.

So guys, think.

Make sure of your own feelings before you decide on anything. It helps to really know your feelings instead of believing yourself and your heart straight away without thinking about it thoroughly.

"You fall in love with the most unexpected person at the most unexpected time."

This time, I am praying for the best.
InsyaAllah, he is the one.
Bismillah.

Internet Connection

Sooooooo.....

It's been almost three weeks. But now I'm back!

In the sense that I no longer mope around in my room, staring at the ceiling and wondering why did Zahir leave me here in Malaysia. Also, my new home has wifi now!!! I can blog on my laptop instead of my phone now! Yeay!

Yes, I admit, I cried every single day and was emotional to the core for a couple of weeks after Zahir left. Hard core emo girl right here! But then I realized why should I be sad. I should just accept this challenge and make this relationship work no matter how far away we are from each other because distance doesn't matter when two people are in love, right? When he gets back 2 years from now, I'm going to say 'IN YO' FACE, LDR!!' and live happily ever after. Hehe.

Anyways, we don't have Unifi here where I live. This neighborhood is too isolated that the people at Unifi crooked their eyebrows when they asked us where we live. We tried asking them to install Unifi here but no luck. Sobs, I love my Unifi!! *cries* So at the moment we're using Celcom for our Wifi and surprisingly it's super great! I'm even uploading a new video on my Youtube Channel as of now. I've always loved Celcom ever since I changed my phone line to Celcom. Now my whole family is using Celcom. I even convinced my best friend to use Celcom. Hehe.

Zahir's Convocation

So, Zahir just graduated! I was really happy and proud seeing him walked on the stage in his robe. And the way he smiled on that day tells me that he was really happy too. I'm glad I had the privilege to attend one of the most important days of his life and be a part of it.

Congratulations baby. You deserve it :)

Oh and of course, I had to put on his robe, took his certificate and pose for the camera. Because well, who doesn't know how Ayeen is..
I officially am a certified Civil Engineer now.

Fourians forever!

As some of you might know, the netball tournament my team and I were training for was last weekend. That explains why I haven't been updating since then. I had to wake up so early on Saturday and Sunday. Not that I'm complaining.

As you might already have guessed, my team and I call ourselves Fourians just because most of us were/are from SMK USJ 4, my former high school. Though some of them weren't from there, we still call ourselves Fourians. Just like the good ol' days ☺

Proud to say, we managed to get through the first stage. We had to play against 4 teams and won 3 out of 4. So we survived the first stage and got into the top 16. I know it doesn't sound as good but we're a new team. This tournament was the first tournament all of us had joined and top 16 out of 36 teams? That's quite good, if you ask me. We went back on Sunday and was really excited when they announced our team to be in the top 16! After lunch, we had to play against a team from JPA (yes, JPA as in the JPA where you get your scholarship from for the college students) and unfortunately, we lost to them. I don't know why but I was kind of disappointed because we could've won but my team and I were getting so lazy at that stage and we didn't play our best.

Warming up

But you know what? After thinking it through, I should be thankful for coming this far. It was my first tournament after so long and we got through the first stage and I know we all are going to get better and better. Truthfully, Shera and I talked about this before the tournament. We both were not confident about surviving the first stage but my teammates and I managed to get through! Though it wasn't much, but I'm so proud of my team and to me, it's a big deal.

Hopefully we'll be joining more tournaments and we all can improve ourselves in the near future!

Oh I just love my Fourian girls so much! ♥

By the way, I just want to say thank you to Zahir for being there to support not only me, but my whole team. Even my team agreed that he can be our coach because he motivated us during the game and commented on how we played right after. He stayed through the whole 2 days with us without complaining that he was tired or anything like that. He really is a sweetheart <3
