Start Saving Your Money!

Have you ever felt like you are stuck in a position where you are determined to save money but you cannot hold yourself back when you saw that new lipstick MAC just launched, or that very cute top at Forever21? Well, if your answer is yes, then read on!

I am a shopaholic, I admit. I mean, I was. Every time I receive my allowance from my Dad or every time I make money from anything, I will always find a way to spend it all. Yes, all. Not a single cent to save. I always find something at the mall that I can spend my money on. The easiest way to say this is that I wasted my money on things I don't even need. I was a spender, not a saver.

After reading some self help books, I realized that if I had saved all the money I earned before, I could have bought myself a Balenciaga and I would still have extra money after. But I told myself that it's not too late to start saving. It's not too late to actually change myself and stop that shopaholic attitude as if I had all the money in the world. I once read, the rich buy luxuries last and the poor buy luxuries first. I couldn't agree more with that statement because I've been in that 'poor' category before. I used to buy everything I set my eyes on if I have the money. My mind was set that I have to spend everything until it's all gone. Luckily, I read all these books and feel the need to change my mindset. Here I have some tips that worked for me and I already started to save money instead of spending. Who knows, these tips might help some of you too!

TIP #1 : AVOID GOING TO THE MALL/ONLINE SHOPS

For all you chronic shopaholics, this might be the hardest thing to do. Trust me, I had the hardest time to do this but I managed to do it anyway. So if I can do it, of course you can too. Start by not going to the mall without a strong purpose. Unless your family wants to have a family day out or a dinner, there's no need for you to go step foot in a mall.

TIP #2 : STAY HOME

I know some of you love to meet up with friends, talk and hang out. Sounds fun huh? Well, I hate to break it to you, but hanging out with friends requires money. If you think back about it, every time you go out with your friends, your money flows like water. I know it's all fun to be out and about with friends but try to tone it down a little. Instead of hanging out with your friends twice a week, make it only once a week, then when you're ready, tone it down a little bit more to once every fortnight. This one is not as hard for me as I am a home kind of girl. I love staying home but it feels great to go out sometimes. Just don't go out too often because once you step out of the house, chances are, you'll be spending your money. A little money or a lot of money, doesn't matter. It's the spending we want to avoid, despite the amount. So, learn to say no to your friends when they ask you to hang out!

TIP #3 : COOK OR EAT AT HOME

This is obvious. Outside food may sound very easy but if you put your thought around to it, there are so many bad things about outside food. It's unhealthy, for one. Food can be pricey too nowadays. So trust me, if you avoid eating outside, you'll be doing yourself a huge favour in terms of health and financial. I used to love outside food especially fast foods. Now that I avoid eating outside, and eat at home instead, I save a whole lot more! You'll be shocked to see the amount you pay for outside food because when you buy food outside everyday, you won't even realize the total amount you spent just to get a piece of hamburger or that cup of milkshake by the end of the month.

TIP #4 : STOP BEING SHY AND PUT THAT THICK FACE ON!

I know some of us have the confidence but to some of us, we probably encountered situations where you go out with a bunch of friends for dinner. Then, when the bill comes, everyone pinch in their money for their meals. However, you don't have small change, so you ended up paying the bill and logically, your friends will have to pay their portion to you. In some cases, people tend to say "Okay, you pay first, I'll pay you back later." Okay, first, you need to remind them to pay you no matter what the situation is because hello, we all need money to survive. No one can let others pay for their meals unwillingly. So, brave up and ask them for your money. No matter how small the amount is. If they owe you $1 for that matter, just ask. They may not pay you back because they forgot or they thought you didn't mind paying for them. Any small amount of money can be amounted to a big sum. So don't brush off that $1 if you feel like you need it. Don't be shy to ask for the money people owe you because you have the rights to ask for it.

TIP #5 : RECORD YOUR INCOME AND EXPENSES

This sounds like a hassle. No one has the time to buy a book and make an account for their income and expenses nowadays. But fret not, as I have a solution for that. I found an amazing app for you to download so you can keep track of your income and expenses. The app is called Spending and it's free on the App Store! So go download it now. Since I first had this app, I have been keeping good tracks on my spendings and earnings. I don't stray on my budget anymore and it feels really great!

You can see a summary of your expenses and income for the month.

When you tilt your phone, it will show a graph of your expenses and income, so you'll know whether you spend or earn more.

When you click on the "cash flow" tab at the bottom on the other hand, you'll see a pie chart, showing you the percentages of your expenses. This way, you'll know how much you spend on a certain things and what you need to cut from your expenses. As you can see on the picture, I clearly need to practise what I preach, which is to cut my expenses from eating out. *oops*

You can also see the exact amount you spent on specific things on the "transaction" tab at the bottom.

These are the categories of expenses you can choose from and you can also create a new name for your expenses and it will be automatically saved.

These are the categories for your income. You can also create a new name for the income category as well.

And here are the settings that you can change according to your preferences!
This app is so easy to use and very useful to me. You should try it too if you have troubles at keeping track of your budget and cash flows.

I hope you guys find these tips helpful and let's start saving for the future!
Next time you go to a mall, tell yourself "no, you certainly do not need that new purse when you already have more than one at home."

GOOD LUCK! ❤︎

Facebook Page?

Okay, so I've been contemplating for so long on whether or not I should create my own Facebook Page.

Situation A : Create a Facebook Page

Some people would think I'm so full of myself and that I think I deserve to have my own as what they call it a "fan page".

Situation BDon't create a Facebook Page

I realized that some of my subscribers on Youtube and followers on my blog have been adding me on my personal Facebook. Well, it's called 'personal' Facebook for a reason. I love you guys, don't get me wrong but there are creepers out there that I don't know and what if one day, the creepers pretend to be one of you guys and kidnap me??! Hahaha well, that's kind of ridiculous but hey, better to prepare than to regret it if it happens right? Anyway, I thought if I make my own page, then all of you guys that I've never met in real life can interact with me on that page.

You see my little dilemma here?

So..........
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
I decided to just make my own Facebook page!!!

I know some people will judge me out of their minds and say things like 'who does she think she is?' or anything relatively close to that. But! Guess what?

I don't care.

People can say whatever they want but I'm doing this for all of you out there who has been adding me on Facebook. If you want to see what's been going in my life, pictures, to be the first to read and watch the newest updates on my blog and the newest video on my channel, then you can like my Facebook page here, and we can be friends! :D

To me, if my intentions are good, then there's nothing wrong with it. I made this page to interact with you guys better, then why not? There's no harm in that.
A little disclaimer though, before any of you be all judgmental on me, I will never think of this Facebook page as a "fan page" because well, who am I kidding? I do not and will not, in a million years, have "fans". Haha.
Also, It's just a page where you guys can share things with me and we all can interact with each other.

So... I guess I'll see you on Facebook then?
:)

Internet Connection

Sooooooo.....

It's been almost three weeks. But now I'm back!

In the sense that I no longer mope around in my room, staring at the ceiling and wondering why did Zahir leave me here in Malaysia. Also, my new home has wifi now!!! I can blog on my laptop instead of my phone now! Yeay!

Yes, I admit, I cried every single day and was emotional to the core for a couple of weeks after Zahir left. Hard core emo girl right here! But then I realized why should I be sad. I should just accept this challenge and make this relationship work no matter how far away we are from each other because distance doesn't matter when two people are in love, right? When he gets back 2 years from now, I'm going to say 'IN YO' FACE, LDR!!' and live happily ever after. Hehe.

Anyways, we don't have Unifi here where I live. This neighborhood is too isolated that the people at Unifi crooked their eyebrows when they asked us where we live. We tried asking them to install Unifi here but no luck. Sobs, I love my Unifi!! *cries* So at the moment we're using Celcom for our Wifi and surprisingly it's super great! I'm even uploading a new video on my Youtube Channel as of now. I've always loved Celcom ever since I changed my phone line to Celcom. Now my whole family is using Celcom. I even convinced my best friend to use Celcom. Hehe.

Comfy Sunday

I don't like being too fancy on a Sunday. To me, Sunday = comfortable clothes. Zahir invited me to join him and his dad & brother to PC Fair today and this is what I ended up wearing :

Plain black maxi dress : stolen from Mom's wardrobe
Denim jacket : Peacocks
Sandals : Bangkok
Necklace : a gift from Zahir
Bag : Balenciaga dupe

I am actually still here at PC Fair, waiting for Zahir's Dad to buy some stuff and we're here, taking pictures of ourselves because we're vain like that. Hehe.

Follow me on NuffnangX!

If you guys haven't notice, there's a new banner on my side bar. It's the NuffnangX banner! I may be a little bit late on this but I just found out about NuffnangX! Basically, it's an app that you can download from your phone if you love reading blogs! Keep updated with your favorite blogs via NuffnangX. It's so much easier to access and read blogs on there!

As you can see on my 'news feed', I already followed one of my good friends here on Blogger, Sabrina! Well, because I love her blog!

When you created an account on NuffnangX, you can follow blogs from there and you'll get updated on the newest posts of the blogs you follow. You can also favorite posts you like and if you have a blog of your own, you can claim the blog on there too! So if anyone leaves a comment on your blog or favorite one of your posts, you'll get notification straight to your phone. How cool is that? And that's not even the best part yet!

There's also a tab in the down bar for 'conversations'. This tab is for  readers to communicate easily with the bloggers. It's like chatting but through blogs. When a person starts a conversation, the blogger will get a notification like a text message and he/she can reply straight to the reader through this app. So basically, it's like text messaging but more fun because it's among bloggers and readers.

So if you like blogging or reading blogs, you should go and download NuffnangX right now! Oh by the way, it's a free app which is awesome! Who doesn't love free apps right? Because I know I do! Hehe.

Fatin's Birthday

This post is like, so long overdue but anyway, I'm going to post it up still. So probably most of you guys knew about my Blackberry, which was stolen like, a week ago. On that very day that I lost my phone, I went to my former high school, which was my sister's school now. I went there with Fara to surprise Nina's friend, Fatin. I'm close to Fatin as well, so I teamed up with my sister to surprise her after school. I baked brownies for her and made her a huge card.

The thing was, when Fara and I arrived at school, it was raining. Not the usual rain, it was raining so heavily, complete with thunderstorms and really strong wind. With umbrellas in hand, Fara and I struggled to open the car doors and carry the stuffs while holding on to the umbrellas. We survived and went in the school but with wet hair, clothes and the card I made was a little wet too. The moment Fatin saw Fara and I, holding the brownies with candles on top and the card, her face changed! In a good way, of course. We surprised her well!

After singing Happy Birthday and everything, we went into the hall since the rain got even worse. Inside the hall, we ate the brownies and everything and suddenly two students came in and said we have to get out of the hall as there was fire on the top floor. We all laughed and didn't believe them until we saw firemen running around with water hose. We all panicked and ran, right there and then. I was really careless to just grabbed my bag and left my Blackberry behind. When we went back to the hall 5 minutes later, the phone was gone. Left there was only my red Kate Spade phone pouch. I started to cry buckets while everyone helped me find the phone. In the end, we didn't find it. I was so disappointed in myself for being so careless.

But anyway, the past is the past. I really hope I won't be as careless again. And I'm really glad Fatin liked the surprise, that's all that matters :)

I lost my phone!

No this isn't a joke. Seriously, my Blackberry was stolen yesterday. I freaked out, I cried like I was going to die. My whole life was in that phone!!

I guess this is a test from Allah and I need to accept the fact that I no longer have my phone with me :( Anyways, Alhamdulillah my parents weren't that mad. I mean, the first thing came to mind when I realized the phone wasn't in my purse was how my parents' reactions will be when they find out. But everything went well in the end. I just have to be extra careful next time. It's just, the fact that the phone was a gift from Zahir.... sigh.

Next on my wish list

I know I said I want to start saving up for a Juicy bag but I can't help adding something else on my wish list : A digital camera.

As embarrassing as this is, I have to admit, I've never owned a digital camera. Sure, my family had one and now we all share a Nikon Dslr but this time, I want my own digital camera. A simple one will do because I've been blogging a lot this year and it's so annoying to have Blackberry quality photos posted up here on my blog. I know almost all of them are of poor quality and now the cat is finally out of the bag, I don't have a digital camera that I can carry everywhere with me. I'm not so good at gadgets, so just a basic and simple one will do just fine. The things that I want on my digital camera are the quality, the photos must be clear and has good lighting (like the ones from Fara's camera), it must be easy to carry everywhere and anywhere, not too heavy and not too big so I can carry it around in my bag, has a simple, modern and nice physical appearance (preferably with bright colours like red or maybe pink), from a well-known brand (not some China brand), a spacious memory and finally, the price must be reasonable. I don't mind getting cheap cameras, as long the photos are nice, the lightings are good and everything, then it's fine with me.

So if you have any suggestions on what camera I should get, you can comment here or email me with the details of the camera. Thanks!

A story of a mouse

Whenever Zahir uses his laptop, he always has a mouse attached to his laptop's USB plug in. I have always been curious why do people need a mouse when there's a cursor pad (or whatever they call it) that is provided for every laptop there is, right under the keyboard itself. You can move your cursor from there and it's so much more convenient since you don't have to move your hand so much. It's. Just. Under. The Keyboard. Hello! If you use a mouse, you have to move your right/left (if you're a lefty) to reach the mouse. Yes, because I'm lazy like that. But really, if laptops provide us with facilities, you might as well use it. Laptops are known for it's convenience anyway, where people can't carry their desktops at home in their hand bags or briefcases. So, they buy laptops. Where the only thing you have to carry is the laptop itself and the charger. That's it. So why waste the space of your bag for a mouse, when you can use the space for make-ups for touch ups?

I asked him one day...

Me : Why do you like to use the mouse so much? Why don't you use the cursor pad on the laptop?

Zahir : Because it's easier.

Me : I don't see how it's easier.

Zahir : Because it's easier to click when I play games like Dota.

-______-

Oh, so now I get it. It's easier to click when you play games. So you can click on it rapidly, instead of tapping on the cursor pad.

Since then, I always see people with mouses attached to their laptops as gamers. Until one day, I was influenced!!!

I don't know how he did it, but Zahir managed to convince me it's easier to use a mouse. But really, it IS easier!! Okay, maybe you have to move your hand a little to reach for it, but other than that, it's much more comfortable to rest your hand on the mouse by the side of your laptop. You should try it. Especially to those with laptops that are small in size like mine, you should buy yourself a mouse. I hated how I look with the mouse, I felt like I'm a game freak too. Dota and me don't really go well. So, I tried to use the cursor pad again. Guess what??

It didn't feel right! My hand needs a mouse!

But of course, I don't bring the mouse along with me when I bring my laptop outside. That'll be embarrassing. The mouse I have at home is the one with the red light, which is worse!
And since I wasn't a fan of mouses, I don't have a mouse pad at home, hence the ugly cardboard. It may look ugly but it made my cursor move faster!
So, if you see me outside with my laptop, don't ever ask me where's my mouse. Let it be our little secret where the mouse is only my comfort at home. Hehe.

My boyfriend and his surprises

I know I've been neglecting my blog. Yet, once again. But don't blame me. I've started my second semester of the first year. In fact, I'm now already on 4th week. Okay, I'm kidding. My classes don't affect my social life or my time on the Internet. At least, not yet. Truth be told, I'm always on the Internet nowadays. It's just I've been ignoring the Blogger symbol thats on my bookmarks bar. I'm always on Twitter or Tumblr. Not so much on Facebook but I still logged in sometimes to stalk people.

The reason why I'm more on Twitter and Tumblr than my blog is because I've got my white Blackberry that I wanted! Thanks to Zahir, I can now crossed off another thing on my wish list. He wanted to keep it a secret because he wanted to surprise me but like always, I was being such a spoiled girlfriend and forced him to spill the beans. I won't tell you why he showed me the receipt before he even got the phone because it's too embarrassing but eventually, I knew it a few days before. So of course I couldn't wait for it!
Though I knew the surprise way before the day he actually wanted to surprise me, I was surprised nonetheless. I screamed in the car when he gave me the phone. He never fails to make me happy. And I'm not saying this in terms of the gifts he got me, but also the love, the protection, the way he treats me, the times and endless efforts he puts in this relationship. He's just one of a kind and I'm so lucky :)

You are unified

I know it wasn't like me to update posts with a lot of photos. But now that my Internet connection is no longer a pain in the ass(not at night too), I can post whatever I want. Obviously, my connection didn't just miraculously turn to a high speed wireless connection. It connects better now because of this thing called Unifi by TM.
I love whoever invented this brilliant thing. Not only my Internet connection is so speedy now, they also give you a cordless phone where you can call any house in Malaysia without being charged(except the monthly payment) and the best of all, I can watch a gazillion more channels on tv. Not that I'm a fan of tv, but still, I can watch Fashion TV where there will be fashion shows and runways. Despite the channels, you can also watch any movie or tv series doesn't matter English, Malay, Bollywood or Korean. All you have to do is just purchase the movie/tv series via your tv. A movie will costs you maximum of RM9 for 24 hours but tv series will costs you a little bit more since you must purchase one season by one season which will last for 30days until it expires. See, it's so much in one package. Like when you sign up for something and you get all the privileges.

Have I mentioned, I love the founder of Unifi?

I'm a creep

Alice in Wonderland was fantastic! Definitely a must watch. What more when Johny Depp is being so pretty in that movie. Seriously, of course, his acting was the best but he looks really pretty and charming. I've always love him for his talent and good looks :)

Awish was sleeping the whole time and I constantly kissed him on the cheek. I just can't resist his cuteness. Daddy said he'll reformat everything in my laptop. Because using Ubuntu was fun at first but now, with no flash player, no MSN, no sounds, no movies, I'm starting to get frustrated with this laptop. I asked Daddy to turn it back to Windows but forgot that I got to have a cd external. Which, of course, I don't have. Tried Daddy's external but couldn't work because it's Mac's. So now I'm still stuck with Ubuntu. Maybe soon? I hope. I want to rebuild everything for my laptop. As everyone knows, my laptop was my brother's before he got his current Macbook. You see, my brother loves to like, stick things on his umm, things. He has patches of stickers on his guitars, on his mac's body, everything! This poor little laptop wasn't an exception for being his sticker victim. That was how my laptop became a guitar hero's board. My plan is to get rid of all the guitar hero stickers and substitute it with more glitters! You know the ones you get on your phones? Yeah, I was thinking to stick them on my laptop. Wait till you see it, it'll be amazing, I just know it. I'm so excited! I tend to excite alot lately. I don't know why.
